Post-Employment Health Care Benefits

Medicare provides insurance for those who are 65 and older who have worked and paid into the system through the payroll tax. On reaching 65, DTE Energy offers several post-employment plans to supplement retirees’ Medicare limits. (Several months before turning 65, you will receive information from the company detailing what is offered and what you will need to do to participate.)

Your eligibility in the plans is determined by a number of factors including:

• The date you were hired,

• The date you left employment with DTE Energy, and

• Your classification (non-represented or represented) on the date you separated from service with DTE Energy.
